MAKEUP HOW-TO: METALLIC LIPS ON A BUDGET

This week on instagram, I have been posting my metallic lips. Some have been metallic lipstick (like chaiborg below)

and others (like the pink lips) are cheat versions that look just as good, or better!

Here are my steps to get metallic lips using any lipstick, and an eyeshadow! You may not need all steps.

STEP 1: For the absolute best results, use a LIP SCRUB to remove dead skin, and then MOISTURIZE to repair. STEP 2: CONCEAL any blemishes around the lips, and blend into lip to even out the color, especially around lip line. STEP 3: LIP LINER- Line your lips. How you do this should depend on your lip shape, and desired outcome. If your lips are uneven, carefully place liner in a symmetrical way (may be on the lipline on one side, and slightly outside on the other.) If you would like your lips to appear larger, choose a liner 1-2 shades darker than your lipstick and line outside your natural lipline. Blend line inward, keeping outer edge sharp.

STEP 4: Apply LIPSTICK with lipstick brush. Blend lipline as you go. Allow to set. STEP 5: Choose a metallic or shimmery eyeshadow that will compliment and highlight your lipstick (try gold or silver!) Use a fluffy brush to apply a thin layer at a time to your lipstick until you get the effect you desire, starting with center of bottom lip. You are ready to go! Shine on!
